Title: looking for a map for a v11 sport scura
Post by benmc on 01/01/23 at 15:40:48
Hi - i rescued a scura a year or so ago, i was trying in vain to get guzzi diag to work and then realised that there was a Jefferies MYECU installed.  the bike runs fine but doesnt go as well as it could, it will occasionally bog down under revs, usually when i'm trying to overtake or ride up a hill :(  i keep seeing mentions of maps but dont know where to download one from.

cheers - if i have somehow overlooked the bleeding obvious please just point me in the right direction before making fun  :P

Benmc,
I ride a smallblock, so I don't have a big block map, but I congratulate you getting a bike w the MyECU.  Mine has been terrific.  If your bike has a MyECU unit, then it should already be running the map.  Do you have the MyECU Optimiser on a laptop so you can connect to your bike and view the map?

Joe

hey Joe -  yes i have the optimizer and have started gathering data, my issues is i dont know what i am looking at or where/how to start to improve the riding experience. I know it runs lean at certain rev ranges.  i was hoping to see other riders logs and maps to see where i can start adjusting mine.

If you know the rev ranges where you think it is lean it would be simple in the Optimiser app to select those columns corresponding to those RPMS and add say 5% to injdur to give it a little more fuel.

Save the map to a new file. A good difference program is http://meldmerge.org/ to see they file has changed the way you expect.

Have a play with the map visualizer - https://mapvuer.myecu.biz/ to see if there is anything in your map that looks odd.

HI Cliff - I can see the issue in mapvuer - not sure how to fix it though

Hi Benmc,

I have a map for a V11 (Ballabio). I have meant to post it for some time, but I am always tweaking it. I will post a copy over the next day or so. Just got to dig it out.

I am pretty happy with the map. The last few fixes have been for poor starting (it always took 3 hits of the button from cold), now better. There is one other problem that I detected in autumn. On a very cold evening it was messing around and stalling at low revs. I have made it a little leaner in the temperature compensation and it seems better. It is one of the pleasures of Cliff's box of tricks, you can continually fiddle!
