I did pull one of those apart not too long ago and construction is totally different to the previous ECUs. It wasn't a PCB that I could easily replace. It was more like a super IC with wire bonded to terminals like you see in integrated circuits.

on V11lemans.com Paul posted some links to ecu software. In the CARC section under 'My new Griso' or so.
Newer ecus like the one mentioned no longer are a one man show, at least not on a leisure and more or less freeware basis.

I would love to change the program-table not having to
take the seat, and the plastic cover (3 screws) to connect it to my PC. (Cagiva Grand Canyon)

It's a shame those BT dongles is not produced anymore, that was convenient for sure. But there should be some other usable product.

Yes I was disappointed they disappeared. I think I've still got a couple left if anyone still wants one.

The only easy is to fit an permanent extension cable. Something like this should do it

I use something like that to cobble together the cat 5 cables to under the pillion seat - easier to get to to change over optimiser or BT dongle feed than removing the driver seat each time.However.... a wee box with a switch to select which one you want to use or facility to use both - read out on optimiser and also log via BT would be simply awesome as they say in modern parlance!! Hey, another Gran Canyon owner!

I've been off the board for a couple of months and look what I missed. I've spent a very frustrating 9 months trying to repair my leaking fuel tank, tried everything to no avail and finally had some success with marine epoxy.

To your question about being able to load and retrieve programs easily. I cut a slit in the rubber plug on the ecu and fished the network cable through. I leave it connected and even use it for logging with the laptop in a top case.

Happy trails,
Pete

Great!! Cagiva owners...About the connection, there is not space enough  under my seat cause I installed a bigger bat, and used a BMW computer case for myecu...Any way myecu gave me time to fix properly the marelli ecu so I'll run marelli again to see what can I do with the connection. Epoxi is great but doesn't last for "ever" In my Yamaha had epoxi fixed  (steel tank) when I bought it  and lasted for about 5 years till it leaked and I decided to fix it properly with brass solder, lot of washing first and filled with Co2. What was wrong with your Marelli unit? The coaled Vishay diode or something else?
