Development planned?

Are there any software updates or new features in development for MyECU?

That's a good question and worthy of another board to outline /canvas opinions on development ideas.

In the past frequent updates were made to  MyECU as new problems needed to be solved and features added. Lately not much work has gone on the MyECU as it has become  more mature.

The user side of MyECU, the Optimiser and the ECUController, has been neglected and both have struggled to keep pace with the MyECU rate of change.

My focus now is to increase the functionality of both the Optimiser and ECUController and also create an equivalent for PDAs starting with the Windows based PDAs

Man, the PDA thing is smashing!
Actually I'm trying to get a BTM112 to work with the Optimiser, unfortunately it seems to need a bitmore than just wiring it in to establish a SPP connection. They come with 19200 baud and 3.3 V. MyEcu has about 34kbaud and 5V. I've found instructions (I hope) for a converter, but it takes time to organise the parts and bits.
Anyway, that's just a matter of time. If MyEcu would talk to PDAs this would mean a whole new world for us ECU onroad gamers.

Just imagine:
Any chance of an an Ecucontroller software f cellphones & wireless communication w MyECU via Bluetooth f e?
I have no clue of the programming etc difficulties,
Just speculating/fantazising. Roll Eyes Would be cool, though...
I remember a Finn who communicated via a Nokia.

The recent firmware already has code for a Blue tooth modem. I was using it to datalog to an IPAQ.
I used a bluetooth module from Sparkfun.
They look like they have different modems now, cheaper and easier to incorporate. I'll have to revisit it soon.

I also had a program that would populate the map grid with a spectrum of coloured dots so you could visually see where you needed to richen or lean.

Gosh I'm mean.

On a more sober note;
Since the market f substitutes f p7, p8, w15 & w16 is not really growing, whats your feeling/drive to develop this any further, Cliff?
Pretty good as is or do you feel an urge to develop things/make them better & more usable?

I think the ECU is pretty mature now so as I said above the ECUController/Optimiser is the main focus for the moment.
MyECU is been picked up many by Guzzi riders but even so the penetration has been rather small. With Ducatis it is only beginning and there's at least an order of magnitude more bikes. I see myself getting busier.

I would like offset map to be able to handle more than +/- 7% increase/decrease.
Make it up to 50 to be able to handle extreme/odd configurations although I know that`s very rare.

After testing w A/F monitor on both exhaust tubes,
I definitely would like wider offset map alterations.
10-20% needed on f e Ducatis.
BTW, even Duc base maps have those corrections.

I've re-examined the relevant code and my initial statement of +/-8% was incorrect.
I've allowed 5 bits to store this value and that gives +15 to -16 % range. The Optimiser will attempt to limit the changes incorrectly to +/- 8% in the injector menu, and to +-10% in autotune menu.

There should be no issue setting the full range with the ECUController 143.

If you look at the steps for updating here -
http://www.cajinnovations.com/MyECU/Support_and_troubleshooting.htm
and send me an email, I can send you a new Optimiser image if you want.

I`ve gotten ECUController 143 from you.
Do I need to uppdate software or flash hardware etc to get +15 to -16 % range avaliability in offset map?
I don`t modify my maps w the Optimiser, only w 143 or Wordpad.

Tried +10% in offset map today,
dl to ecu & back to PC, seems to work, thx. Smiley

Hi Cliff,

Any plans on the IAW5A - especially for CARC Guzzis and others?

I would be happy to be a guinea pig - live in Wollongong and work in southern Sydney...

That's a good question. I have both a Norge and a V7 Café. While I don't think the Café (stock) needs any ECU modification the Norge could probably use a bit of tweaking.
