In:- K & Ns.
Out:- Lafranconis (Competitione Reservato
).
Shake it all about:-
Still working on idle - has a habit of occasionally conking out at lights etc. even when warm.
More work to be done using the LC1 maybe when all the frost and snow goes!!
Off to do the hokey cokey....

Are you using original spec for valve lash? More generous figures like 0.15/0.20 or even 0.20/0.25 does wonders for idle and low rpm with my bike. No downside as far as I can tell. I thought it was because of very worn guides but this is still a fact after a full overhaul.
I also notice my idle cell has a full millisecond longer pw than yours! Mine is 3600 with an InjVOn of 700 @14V.

Now then - have checked tappets and adjusted to 0.2 / 0.25mm. Checked balance and it seems pretty good with the morgantune thingamebobs. Adjusted idle cell to about 3400us as per Razs map and afr dived to about 10.3. Engine seems to labour but cant really do much more until mother nature stops throwing cold weather our way. Odd stuff happens when saving to ecu - get a wee cough and splutter - seemingly as upload goes through lower left cell - sometime leads to engine stall. Not always at this cell. Anyone else get this?

Is that when saving an individual cell or the whole map? I can't recall having ever saved or loaded the entire map with engine running.

Hi Raz
I fired up the bike. Loaded ecucontrol with the present incumbent map, modified the idle cell for a while and then saved the map to the ecu thence to file. Engine running whilst this is going on. That's when I notice stalls. I was more attentive this time and noted the position of the stalls - in the past I put it down to rubbish mapping or something but it does seem a function of the ecucontrol / eeprom being updated. Ecucontrol goes through the parameters then seems to hit the cell tables stuff: cough and stall and bad words ensue.

I've never tried to save the map to the ecu while the bike was running.
What I do is load the map from the ecu, start the bike, modify the idle cell, and then update the eeprom before moving on to another cell. I don't think you need to reload the entire map to the ecu.

Yeah, fine I know now what I am doing is unorthodox, but why does it cough and stall?

Don't save a map to the ECU while the engine is running.
It could corrupt the firmware is the map is in program memory. You can do individual cells with no problems.

So maybe ECUControl should refuse to save if rpm >= 500. I guess that would be a trivial hack?

Yes that would be easy.
Actually I've been working on the next version of the ECUController but lacking the motivation to finish it off. I'll put it into that.
It's a major rearrangement of the UI to try and simplify. I'll add this and then ask for some beta testers.

Good point but I'm not sure it's that simple. You may want to change one thing, press Apply, change another, press OK.
But something should obviosuly be fixed. If Apply was clicked, clicking OK should just back you out without applying the fixes again.
Or maybe you're right. Click OK and the re-enter Global Adjustment. That can't go wrong.
