Reading Data Logs
04/28/12 at 09:54:22

What do the map values represent?  For example, (7.8,3.2)?
Does a positive O2 adjustment represents a lean portion of the map?
My bike has only one O2 sensor, so the first o2Adj0 figure in the log, is the only relevant one, right?  And the second o2Adj0 can be ignored?

I recently did some runs, changing the O2 sensor target voltages for each.  Below is a sample;

Map (7.8,3.2) Thro=192 RPM=3263 o2Adj0=123.8% o2[4] o2Target=0.89V o2=0.03V o2Adj0=75.0% o2[4] o2Target=0.89V o2=1.90V
Map (7.8,2.7) Thro=191 RPM=3255 o2Adj0=124.6% o2[4] o2Target=0.89V o2=0.04V o2Adj0=75.0% o2[4] o2Target=0.89V o2=1.90V
Map (7.7,2.7) Thro=191 RPM=3229 o2Adj0=125.0% o2[4] o2Target=0.89V o2=0.04V o2Adj0=75.0% o2[4] o2Target=0.89V o2=1.89V
Map (7.7,2.8) Thro=192 RPM=3217 o2Adj0=125.0% o2[4] o2Target=0.89V o2=0.03V o2Adj0=75.0% o2[4] o2Target=0.89V o2=1.89V

Are you cutting off bits of the line because I get something like this from v151 ( ignore that actually values as it is taken from the experimental swift ecu )

Map (5.8,4.1) Thro=316 RPM=2531 o2Adj0=111.7% o2[4] o2Target=0.48V o2=0.00V o2Adj0=111.7% o2[4] o2Target=0.48V o2=0.19V OilT=-28.0C AirT=-30.0C AirP= 0mb Bat=13.50V Inj=2311us BaroAdj=100.0%

You'll notice that even though there is a difference in o2 voltage, the o2Adj are the same. Yours seem to be different. You must of changed the the following line "MyECU Cfg O2Sensors=1" to 3 to get both channels to operate independantly.
There would have been no reason to change that.

This and your other post about -ve/+ve seem to indicate you are going down the dangerous path of changes things because you think they need to be changed rather than a more scientific method of changing things that really do need to be changed.
I strongly suggest you go back to my Breva map.

In reference to your original question the Map (5.8,4.1) refers to the position in the map array that the engine is operating in. 1.0, 0.0 is idle if you have setup properly.

Okay, I'll go back to the original map, and log that.  Then we"ll what needs to be adjusted, or not.

Unfortunately I've got to travel for the next two weeks for work.  I can resume this then.

As to the map, for example (5.8,4.1) does this correlate to (throttle, rpm), because it doesn't match the throttle and rpm readings at that time.

The numbers are actually an index into the map. For instance the RPM value of 5.8 puts it between columns 5 and 6, remember the first column is zero.

Here are some results from my latest log, going back to the base map.  I'm interested in what map adjustments I should look at.

Here it is at approx. 2,500 rpm, in 2nd gear, at around 25 mph (40 kph);
Map (6.2,1.5) Thro=151 RPM=2673 o2Adj0=104.3% o2[5] o2Targ0=0.86V o20=0.13V OilT=95.0C AirT=23.0C AirP=1041mb Bat=12.83V Inj=2985us BaroAdj=104.1%

At 3,500 rpm, in 2nd, at around 35 mph (56 kpm);  Map (8.8,1.4) Thro=149 RPM=3597 o2Adj0=98.9% o2[4] o2Targ0=0.84V o20=0.89V OilT=94.0C AirT=24.0C AirP=1040mb Bat=13.94V Inj=2424us BaroAdj=103.6%

Here it is at approx. 4k rpm, 40 mph (64 Kpm) in 3rd gear:
Map (10.3,4.2) Thro=229 RPM=4194 o2Adj0=109.6% o2[4] o2Targ0=0.83V o20=0.89V OilT=91.0C AirT=25.0C AirP=1039mb Bat=14.06V Inj=3884us BaroAdj=103.2%

First off you should look at the colourise map to get a good visual indication to pick an area that needs adjustment.

Then you need to search the through the log to find entries around that point. Ideally you need to find lines where the X,Y has no fractional parts so that it is on the breakpoints.

From those log lines the important thing is the 02adj value. In you first example 104.3% means you should make that map entry 4% richer.

The latest ECUController has an adjust map feature where it will make corrections automatically. Treat this with caution as it is new. Basically read in a map, do the map adjust and write out to a new map. Then to be safe do a visual comparison to verify what changes where made.

Thanks, I'll work on that.
