Problem setting comm port in EcuContoller
09/07/13 at 06:06:03

I have a feeling I have had this problem before but can't remember how I sorted it.  Had a look through my old post without success.

Device manager shows my USB Serial port to be on comm6. I cannot get MyEcuController 1.66 to change from comm1, I try to set it to comm6 but it wont stay there. I had a look with Hyperterminal and comm6 seems to be connected OK to the My15M.

If you're on win7 this is generally permissions related.
From explorer right click on the ECUController and select "run as administrator" This should allow you then to select the right port.
This should only be required once.

Many thanks Cliff, worked a treat.

Been doing a lot of DIY and work in general lately so MY15M has been on the back burner.

Off to the Netleymarsh Autojumble tommorow and perhaps Beaulieu if I can find the cash, you never know I may find some Guzzi bits there.
