16M MyECU on ST4

Hi all,
Just had ecu fitted up today. Thanks Cliff.
The map installed was for one of Cliffs Guzzi's. It works quite well. Would like to tune more specific to the ST4.
There is a small throttle input glitch. Cliff pretty certain he knows what it is.

The ST4 is essentially a 916. Different cams and valves, but mostly the same.
Have found a couple of 916 maps on the site, just wondering if anyone has an ST4 map willing to share?
Thanks for any help. Will share my findings/workings as i get through it.

If you strike out here, there was formerly a lot of map trading on this Guzzi site.  Perhaps someone there can point you to a Ducati place or give you a map.

Thanks for that. Will check it out.
Checked plugs. Uber lean. Current map was ok to get going at least. Not suitable long term.

Got wideband sensor on order. Comms sorted.

Road tested today.
Tried 5 different maps.
Interesting results.
I found that most of the maps were quite rich. Even at cruise, struggled to get in to 12 AF ratio.
Couple had a weird lean spot at around 4 to 5k rpm. About mid throttle.

In the end, i ran the map Cliff installed in first place.
Mad some very minor tweaks to spark map and that was it.
Initially i thought it was quite lean.
According to O2 gauge, its pretty damn good.
Cruise typically around mid 13's to low 14's AF.
Accell, that depended how hard. Did see AF drop to 10 at full throttle, 4k rpm, but came up to mid 12's as revs got higher.
Given i have a wideband sensor, and this ecu can accept a O2 sensor, will talk with Cliff as whats required to get them together.
At this time, i won't be making any real changes to maps etc.
I have a couple more i may try down the track.
Thank you Cliff. Your ecu is great.

Firmware upgrade today.
Good opportunity to do some fine tuning of fuel map.
One thing i forgot, tach can be used to show throttle position.
Instantly made tuning map easier.
I do need to remember the rpm and throttle pos, but doing a rpm range at a time is doable.
Will up load map when sorted

Been tuning map for the ST.
Very usable map now. Still working on other maps.
Standard ST4 redline is 10k rpm. I have left it at just over 8k on this map. Really not many instances when a touring bike needs to revved harder than that.
Will refine map more.
As it is, across most rev range, AF ratio is in 13 to 14:1 range. ST seems quite happy in this range.
Full throttle at any rpm is on rich side. Sometimes sub 12. This will be works in progress.

Bit more tuning.
Pieced together fuel and ignition from standard 916 fuel and std 996 ignition.
Rejigged throt and rpm breaks to be closer to maps mentioned.

At first, fuel uber rich. About 20+% richer than required.
Pulled a ton of fuel. Made a few tweaks to different areas. Pretty good now. Abit rich in upper range.
I have found that my ST at least, likes running in the mid to late 13's AF ratio.
Leaning i to 14's, pops, hestitaes etc.
Still only using upto 8500rpm. I don't need the last 1500rpm.
Had concerns about ign timing being so advanced. It seems pretty good.
I tried an ign map with far less advance, the exhaust heat was pretty intense. Coolant temp up too. In order of 10c.

This map very usable in a ST4. Will refine abit more.

I got some info today. OEM map for a ST4.
Pieced together map from the info.
Some minor tweaking to richen up an area at low throttle opening and rpm in 2 to 3.5k range. Funny thing is, the oem ecu had this flat spot. Clearly a mapping issue.
This map will supercede the previous maps

I did have cyl offset. One thing i learnt quickly, the optimiser app doesn't like it, if its entered as a decimall, rather than a whole number.  The offset in info i used, was quite low. I i interpreted it right, all the offsets were sub 1%. Hence the decimals.
In the end i set cyloff back to zero. App was happy again!! Bike is happy with new map too.

Bit more tuning.
Added the cylinder offset.
This map is marginally leaner than previous map.
